Simon*, 17 years old, Eritrean, has been in Calais since February 2020. In the jungle they call him « Bambino » because he is one of the youngest. In 2009, Simon and his family fled Senafe, his hometown, to Ethiopia. They lived for nine years in the May-aini refugee camp on the border with Eritrea. « I was too small when I left Eritrea, I don’t remember anything » he says. He would like to go back there later. In 2019 he and his family arrived in Italy by plane. They lived in Italy for six months. Simon then went to the Netherlands and then to Germany. He hasn’t heard from his family and doesn’t know where they are. When he gets to England, he will try to find them.

En 2009, Simon et sa famille ont fui Senafe sa ville natale pour l’Éthiopie. Ils ont vécu neuf ans dans le camp de réfugiés de May-aini à la frontière avec l’Érythrée. « J’étais trop petit quand je suis parti d’Érythrée, je ne me souviens de rien », Il aimerait y retourner plus tard. En 2019 lui et sa famille sont arrivés en Italie en avion. Ils ont vécu en Italie six mois. Simon est, ensuite, parti pour les Pays-Bas, puis pour l’Allemagne. Il n’a plus de nouvelle de sa famille et ne sait pas où elle est. Quand il sera en Angleterre, il essaiera de les retrouver.
